Our Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Alkatech Solutions collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the www.alkatechsolutions.co.uk website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Alkatech Solutions.
Personal information:
We may collect personal information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, phone number and address. We will collect personal information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.
We may collect non-personal information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers and other similar information.
When you contact us by phone or email to enquire about our services we collect information about you, including your name and contact details. Alkatech Solutions may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes: 1) To improve customer service Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently. 2) To send periodic emails we may use the email address to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests.
Services:
As part of the repair process, it may sometimes be necessary to re-format the computer’s internal or external hard disc drive(s) and/or to re-install the Microsoft Windows® operating system (or similar). Both these procedures are carried out only as a last resort and after Alkatech Solutions has attempted all other means of repair.
All data, regarded by the customer as either required, important and/or critical, should be backed up (saved to another hard disc drive or to removable media, for example, a CD-R/DVD-R disc or USB stick) prior to any such re-installation of software such as Microsoft Windows®, or the re-formatting of your computer’s internal or external hard disc drive(s). Re-formatting of the hard disc drive(s) means that all data will have been erased. The computer will have been returned to “Factory Settings” after re-installing Microsoft Windows® in other words, to the state it was in when it left the manufacturing facility. The backed up data can then be re-installed on the computer.
For Alkatech Solutions, the protection of a customer’s personal or business data is a matter of course. Alkatech Solutions ensures that all its engineers observe the standards of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and act in accordance with the regulations contained therein.
Personal data contained on, or transferred from, PCs, terminals and hard drives or disks shall, at all times, be processed fairly and lawfully and anonymised.
With the exception of a customer’s personal contact details and the details of all transactions with Alkatech Solutions, all other data, however sourced and necessarily held on our computers or external hard drives or disks during the execution of the works, shall be deleted, using a secure format, on completion of the works.
When the customer requests Alkatech Solutions not to proceed with a repair which it is able to effect to resolve the problem. In this case the customer must pay our minimum charge for diagnostics (£45).
Alkatech Solutions accepts no responsibility for loss of computer data, however caused, including any alleged loss occurring during data recovery.
In some cases, Alkatech Solutions may need to take computers to workshops for specific parts to be fitted. All hardware repairs and services, but specifically excluding software services, are supplied with a 3 month warranty.
Any computer or other hardware left with Alkatech Solutions and not collected within 3 weeks shall be assumed to be permanently abandoned by Client and will be disposed of without recourse to Client. Prior to this, every effort will be made by Alkatech Solutions to contact Client to obtain instructions.
Websites:
Client will incur additional charges on an hourly basis for any further modifications. Any alterations requested by the Client, outside the scope of the pre-agreed specifications between the Client and Alkatech Solutions, will be subject to full charges.
Payment for the estimated project is due upon invoicing. Alkatech Solutions retains the right to apply interest to any overdue amounts. Additionally, upfront payment is required for any incurred costs, such as domain or web hosting.
Trademarks and Service Marks - Clients are responsible for conducting thorough research on their company name, ensuring its uniqueness, and obtaining a trademark or service mark to safeguard their legal rights to the name or image. Alkatech Solutions disclaims any responsibility for legal consequences arising from inadequate due diligence regarding the availability of a company name or image. Clients must independently secure permission for the use of photographs in print or on the internet. Alkatech Solutions is not liable for legal actions stemming from insufficient due diligence on image availability.
The client retains ownership of the content of any website created by Alkatech Solutions. The design and layout of the website, however, remain the property of Alkatech Solutions. Upon full payment of all fees, the client is granted unrestricted, indefinite, and royalty-free use of the website. Any alterations to the website must be authorized in writing by Alkatech Solutions, and all changes should be facilitated through Alkatech Solutions.
